Zen in Paris

"Authentic and amazing Izakaya style restaurant between the Opéra Garnier and the Louvre. The place is really packed for lunch which explains why they do not take reservations at that time but only for dinner. The lunch menu is complete and the portions are generous. The Una Don (grilled eel) is mouth watering and the chirashi special is complete and the fish is fresh. The service is nice despite a bit of waiting at the beginning but then it chilled really fast. Good is a really good place and I would love to try their dishes at dinner time."

"Authentic Japanese cuisine!!! I’ve been to This restaurant several times and have tried chirashi, sashimi (super fresh and various types of fish), grilled saumon with miso (must try!!!! My favorite!!!! And the meshed potato inside of dish is amazing too), beef tartare, so far every time it’s amazing and delicious!!!!"

"The sushi rice was a bit too salty, which slightly overpowered the fish. I was asked whether I could accept wasabi, but there was no wasabi included in the sushi. The fish was safe to eat, but the freshness did not really stand out — not “bad” or risky, just lacking the clean, fresh flavor. Unagi appetizer is good btw."

"Everything was great. The zen menu is a fantastic way to get a good value for price. Got tonkatsu was perfect. The panko crevettes were good too! Service is wonderful. The tiramisu was super balanced not too sweet, just as it needs to be!"

"Such a cool spot for a quick, affordable, and delicious lunch. The curry katsu was great - comforting and fulfilling, big portion. The salmon sashimi with rice was exactly as it should be: fresh salmon with fluffy rice. Service was fast and efficient."

"I really liked this Japanese restaurant - both in terms of taste and service. I ordered sushi (nigiri) and having some experience with omakase I know that chefs usually put wasabi inside. This makes the taste more complete, so that nothing stands out. I was pleasantly surprised when I was asked how I wanted it: with wasabi inside or on the side. It may seem like a small thing, but it is details like this that make for great service. Another big plus was that I was offered a seat at the counter, where I could watch the sushi being prepared. Watching the process is a pleasure in itself. Everything tasted great: fresh, precise, and very nicely balanced. I will definitely come back here and sincerely recommend this place to everyone. One word of advice: it is better to book a table in advance so you dont end up without a seat."
